+Rev. Economos Michael Condos

Fr. Michael is originally from Northwest Indiana. As a younger man, prior to his enrollment at the Seminary, he worked for nine years as a personal and commercial lines insurance marketing representative. He also served in the United States Marine Corps reserves. He met his wife, Presvytera Nancy, while working in Phoenix, Arizona.

Shortly after their marriage, he received his calling to the holy priesthood. He enrolled at Hellenic College (Fall 1990) and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies in 1993, with highest honors (summa cum laude). He continued his preparation for the holy priesthood, enrolling in the Master of Divinity program at Holy Cross Greek Orthodox Theological School. He graduated in May of 1995 with high honors (magna cum laude).

Upon graduation, Fr. Michael was ordained to the Holy Diaconate (September 14, 1995) and to the rank of Presbyter (October 15, 1995) by Metropolitan Iakovos of blessed memory. Father was assigned as the associate pastor to the St. Nicholas Greek Orthodox Church in St. Louis, Missouri, under the direction of +Rev. Fr. George Nicozisin of blessed memory. He has served parishes in Peoria, IL; Miami, FL; and Montgomery, AL. During his pastoral service in Miami, Florida, Father was awarded two Offikia (Offices)- Confessor (Spiritual Father) and Economos (Steward of the Church) in 2003 and 2004. Throughout his pastoral ministry, he has remained active in mission and ecumenical ministry, serving the Greek Orthodox Mission of Lee County in Montgomery and the Holy Transfiguration Mission in Columbus, GA.

Since August of 1998, Fr. Michael has served the Three Hierarchs parish in Champaign, as well as two missions--one for the OCF students (Chapel of St. Philip, NIKA House) and the Chapel of St. Barbara in Danville, IL (45 miles east of the Three Hierarchs parish). During this time, he has continued his education and is a candidate for a Master of Literature degree from Faulkner University's Honors College.

Fr. Michael has worked to make connections with many local charities and ecumenical groups. He has served as one of the leaders of the annual "Stock the Pantry" event with Empty Tomb; assisted with the local homeless ministry (C-U at Home); and has been a speaker, as well as host for ecumenical gatherings such as the annual Pro-Life Vigil; at local high schools; and more.
