1/3 c. margarine 1 c. flour 2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. baking soda 1/4 tsp. salt 3 Tb. sugar 1/2 c. sour milk (1/2 c. soy milk plus 1 ½ t. lemon juice) 2 tsp. corn starch 2 Tb. water 1/2 c. chocolate chips or raisons (optional) 1. Mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt and sugar in a bowl. 2. Cut margarine into flour mixture using 2 knives or a pastry blender (if using 2 knives, crisscross blades until the margarine is the size of small pebbles. 3. Add sour milk and mixture of cornstarch and water all at once. 4. Mix until moist (do NOT over mix or your scones will be rock hard). 5. Fold in raisons and chocolate chips. 6. Push together into a round pillow, cut into 8 triangle-shaped pieces, place on cookie sheet and sprinkle sugar on top if desired. 7. Bake for 7-10 minutes or until brown on top. Three Hierarchs * Fr.
