PHILOPTOCHOS SOCIETY
At Three Hierarchs Greek Orthodox Church

Toni Laros - President

WHAT IS PHILOPTOCHOS?

The Ladies Philoptochos Society is a national charitable organization under the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese that works to aid the poor, destitute, hungry, aged, sick, unemployed, orphaned, imprisoned, widowed, and handicapped, as well as victims of disaster. The women of Philoptochos also undertake the burial of impoverished persons and offer assistance to anyone who may need the help of the Church on the local level. At Three Hierarchs, the women of Philoptochos support this nationwide effort by dispersing money raised through bake sales, church dinner fundraisers, the annual “Christmas Tea,” and much more. Please consider joining the women of Philoptochos at Three Hierarchs Orthodox Church! The Ladies Philoptochos Society meets monthly to plan events, and all women of Three Hierarchs parish are welcome to attend.

HOW CAN I BECOME A MEMBER OF PHILOPTOCHOS?

To join Philoptochos, simply come to our next monthly meeting and express your interest in joining to the Philoptochos president, Toni Laros.

WHEN ARE PHILOPTOCHOS MEETINGS?

Philoptochos typically meets on the fourth Tuesday of the month, at 7 p.m. in the Three Hierarchs Fellowship Hall.

CAN I HELP PHILOPTOCHOS WITHOUT BECOMING A MEMBER?

Of course! If you are a woman with a schedule too busy for our monthy meetings or a man with a heart for philanthropy, there are many ways to support the work of Philoptochos. The most significant way to help is by supporting our work through monetary donations. Another way is to donate your time to help with particular events (i.e. baking an item for a Philoptochos bake sale or setting up an event). Of course, all parishioners are encouraged to attend Philoptochos events such as the "Philoptochos Sunday" luncheon in November, the Annual Christmas Tea in December, and the Cheese Fare Sunday luncheon just before Great Lent. And all men and women are invited to participate in our community service events, which we will be organizing in the near future.
